About the Committee
Throughout history, the water has been a source of both wealth and danger. As a field where defense, law, and diplomacy converge, maritime security is currently a top priority for the global community. Global waterways face previously unheard-of difficulties that put international collaboration and the principles of freedom of passage to the test, from the ongoing piracy occurrences in the Horn of Africa to the growing tensions in the South China Sea.
The Special Committee on Maritime Security and Piracy (SCMSP) aims to provide a comprehensive platform for delegates to debate, negotiate, and propose actionable solutions to these complex issues. Through constructive dialogue, legal frameworks, and collaborative strategies, delegates will seek to ensure safety, stability, and open access across the world’s maritime routes.
As the tides of international relations shift, SCMSP invites delegates to chart a course toward peace, mutual respect, and sustainable maritime governance
